Hi, thanks for clicking over to say hello! My name is Dr. Joseph Kostesich and I’m a solo-practice family care optometrist in Shelby Township, Michigan. I love helping people with their individual eye care needs, contact lenses and those with ocular diseases.
My love of the eye started back before I graduated with high honors from Michigan State University in East Lansing with a Bachelor of Science.
Then upon graduation from Michigan State University, my natural curiosity for learning, empathy for people and what I later found was my true passion and calling in life, led me to study neurophysiology (or the study of the central and peripheral nervous systems) in graduate school at MSU. Four years later, and after switching schools, I received my Doctor of Optometry degree from Ferris State University at their Michigan College of Optometry.
Upon graduation, I spent a short period as a clinical instructor at the Optometric Institute of Detroit. I then served as a staff optometrist at Selectcare before founding my current private optometric practice in the heart of Shelby Township, Michigan.
I’m a lifelong resident of the State of Michigan who loves to play basketball and watch any MSU team win — GO GREEN!! I live in Macomb County with my wonderful wife, where we raised two amazing daughters. One of whom is a veterinarian and the other is in business school — I couldn’t be happier!
