We at Dr. Kostesich’s have the training and the necessary equipment to accurately diagnosis and treat many of the diseases or ailments affecting the human eye. Whether it’s chronic dry eyes, foreign bodies, floaters or something even more serious, we are skilled at determining the cause. When necessary, we can perform the appropriate procedure to manage the condition affecting your ocular status.

When conditions arise that are outside of our scope of practice, we have the necessary affiliations to ensure you are receiving the best care available.

In the 25+ years we have been practicing, we’ve formed many personal relationships with some of the finest specialists in North America. From “routine” cataract surgery to finding (and more importantly having access to) the most skilled specialty diagnosticians and surgeons, we have formed a referral network second to none.

This above network ensures the highest level of medical management available by an optometrist today. Additionally, we are one of only a handful of optometrists that has privileges at the Straith Hospital for Specialty Surgery. Dr. Kostesich in Shelby Township also has affiliations and/or relationships with Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, the Retina Consultants of Michigan in Southfield, the Michigan Cornea Consultants in Warren, Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Kellogg Eye Center at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, the Kresge Eye Institute in Detroit, St. John Providence Hospital in Grosse Pointe, Dr. Tayfour at the Windsor Laser Eye Institute in Ontario, the Fraser Eye Care Center in Fraser, Michigan, and several others.

Co-Managing Eye Surgeries

We work closely with our network of surgeons to ensure the highest quality results and when prudent co-manage the procedure. From iridotomy, to cataract, to LASIK, to LASEK, and so on, we work closely with our highly skilled network of surgeons to make your procedure is as painless and as stress free as possible. If the procedure is beyond our scope of practice (e.g. retinal detachment), we have the affiliations and relationships necessary to provide the appropriate intervention in a timely manner. Once the condition is stabilized and/or resolved, the patient will return to our Shelby Township office to continue monitoring the post surgical conditions.
